I AM UNDONE. I don’t even know what is happening in my brain right now. My thoughts are all over the place and I’m so completely, unbelievably obsessed. This series, The Red Door series, truly threw me for a loop. I was absolutely unprepared for what Dyan Layne would bring to the table with Serenity but now? We’re on book three and I’m sitting here thinking…how does it just keep getting better and better? These books are sexy and passionate but also intriguing and complex. We get to taste a bit of everything as we sample each of these delicious men and their equally compelling partners.

To say I was excited about Brendan’s book would have been a gross understatement. I knew he was dark and mysterious but I had no idea just how low he was. He carries so much weight on his shoulders throughout this entire novel. He is passionate but afraid to open up and allow himself to feel his feelings. Katie is eighteen. If you know me at all you know I am ALL ABOUT an age gap romance. This fit my every desire. She’s young, naive, and oh-so innocent. Gah! Dyan had me eating out of the palm of her hand. This was delicious!! (How many times have I used that word already? LOL). So here we have a thirty two year old sex club owner and an innocent eighteen year old college student, who meet and share a kiss in a park one night, without even exchanging names. It is a true ‘love at first sight’ story and I cannot even TELL you how much I love those! Ladies I was ON THE FLOOR. This book was perfect! I will say it again: PERFECTION.

There is also a lot that happens in this novel. Maybe I was too preoccupied with the sex scenes in the last book, but I had no idea just how intense things were getting with “she know shall not be named”. Oh man…this book took a crazy turn in the middle and I almost got sick. I almost lost track of what was happening because I was feeling so many things. I won’t spoil anything for you but get ready, I’m serious, you are not prepared for this book. The chemistry, the love (from everyone not just between our main couple), the tears and pain! I cannot praise Dyan Layne enough for writing this series. It is the best, sex-positive, delicious series I’ve ever read and I need more asap. 5 stars as always!!
