Bittersweet

To say I’m obsessed with this book feels like the understatement of the year. WOW. This novel blew me away. I haven’t read anything by Sarina Bowen, but the entire rest of this series is currently sitting in my Amazon cart because I need to read it all.

This book started out differently than I expected. The cover makes it seems almost like a shifter book or a romantic suspense, but it’s definitely not. It’s a romantic comedy all the way, and I was soooo here for it. We meet Audrey and very quickly realize that she is an extremely special woman. She is…spunky? I honestly don’t know how to properly describe her character LOL! She’s driven but also hilarious and clumsy and accident-prone. She dreams of owning her own restaurant and being a true chef, so she’s working her way up at a company called BPG. Her boss at BPG decides to send her on a work trip to Vermont to bargain with some local farmers for fresh produce and other things to help bring a “farm to table” style to life in their kitchens. The first farm she shows up at just so happens to belong to Griff – a guy she hooked up with a couple of times in college. And this is when it starts to get really interesting…

We learn that Griff held a bit of a torch for Audrey in college, even though he didn’t really know her. She was a freshman when he was a senior, but she dated one of his friends. Sparks FLY between these two, and when I say these were some of the best sex scenes I’ve ever read…I’m not joking. There wasn’t even anything super original about these sex scenes, but holy crappers, Sarina Bowen knows how to bring scenes to life on the page. The outdoor shower sex scene?? YES PLEASE! I know there was a lot more to this novel than just sex, but I need to emphasize how incredible those scenes were!

Okay, so Griff starts falling hard and fast again for sweet Audrey. But she suffers from some intense insecurities because of her mother. Lots of childhood emotional trauma for this lady. It’s heartbreaking. The wonderful thing is, Griff continuously lifts her up – both he and his family play a huge role in her success. She finally feels truly loved and accepted by this family and it brought me to tears. This novel made me SO HAPPY. I know I’ve been rambling forever but this small town, second chance, frenemies to lovers romance was nothing short of perfect. Griff is definitely a new top book boyfriend. Yum. 5 stars!

Tempting Fate

This was my first ever historical romance and I can safely admit that I regret waiting until now to try out this genre. Holy macaroni…this book was exceptional. ABSOLUTELY REMARKABLE. I had no idea I would fall so deeply in love with this writing style and time period. I was listening to the Read Me Romance podcast and this series was recommended. I was nervous to start from book one just in case I didn’t like it, so I jumped immediately to the novel that drew me in the most. And boy am I glad that I did.

Gabriel (also known as Gareth) is in love with Felicity. When this book begins, we get a small taste into their past with the prologue. I think it’s probably best to read the books in order so that you get the full picture, but I wasn’t lost at any point. Enough information was given in the beginning that I felt I had a good grasp on their past. Gabriel saved Felicity’s life in the previous book and then disappears. Felicity believes him to be dead throughout our entire novel. The Gabriel that she knows wears a mask because he has a scared, tattered face.

“The poor man had no nose, no hair, an eye socket so damaged it barely deserved the term, and so many slices and scars on his face, it made speaking visibly difficult.”

Gabriel gets a face transplant and looks like a completely different person after a year. He changes his speech and grows out his hair, and changes his name to Gareth. He watches Felicity from afar because he feels extremely protective of her, and one day he’s accidentally “caught”. The truth is, she physically runs into him and mistakes him for a bodyguard applicant. She took out an ad in the paper for a bodyguard because she had recently been attacked. And this is where our story begins. Felicity spends a good amount of time during this novel looking for a husband in order to inherit her family’s fortune. She feels compelled and obligated to do this even though she dreams of a love like in the romance novels she reads. Gabriel is hilarious in his jealousy when her potential suitors come calling. He advises her to turn down each one of them. Her, being the logical woman that she is, is constantly questioning him. It’s a comical and invigorating game that they play and I ate every single word up.

This story is delicious and entertaining. We get a bit of friends to lovers, secret identity, bodyguard romance, and historical romance all wrapped into one magnificent package. I had no idea what I was missing out on until I gave this novel a shot. Also…both our heroine AND hero are virgins. I am ALL about that. Huge fan. I will also admit that I had NO idea historical romances wrote such explicit sex scenes. Is it like that in all historical books? These scenes was pages and pages long. I was very into it. A round of applause for Kerrigan Byrne. I will 100% be reading as much of her work as I can. I am so excited for this new genre!! 5 stars!!

A Court of Mist and Fury

“To the stars who listen – and the dreams that are answered.”

Okay there is so much about this book that I need to unpack. We ended ACOTAR with Feyre having saved the world. She frees herself, Tamlin, and everyone else. Not without dying first, though. She is brought back as a High Fae and then goes back to Spring Court with Tamlin. Which is what she wanted all along, right? …right? This is where we start to get really deep. This is when sh*t goes from a fun and sometimes scary young adult novel to a full stop adult novel. Feyre has SEVERE PTSD. And when I say severe, I mean she is having panic attacks and losing insane amounts of weight from lack of sleep and malnutrition. She is slowly dying. Meanwhile, Tamlin (suffering in his own way) doesn’t pay enough attention to realize what’s happening. Well…it’s that or he just doesn’t want to see how much she’s suffering so he ignores it. Tamil has proposed to Feyre and they are getting ready for the wedding. This is where we meet Ianthe.

I knew I hated this lady from the moment we met her. She’s a vindictive b*tch. GODS I hate her. As Feyre is slowly melting away, Ianthe is taking over everything for her. At the time, Feyre is thankful because she doesn’t have the strength to handle the duties of being the High Lord’s wife. Guys…….I mean, literally SO MANY RED FLAGS. Girl. So then the wedding day comes and that’s when shit hits the fan and when I tell you that the rest of the story is gold, I mean the entire rest of the novel is PURE brilliance. I haven’t been this invested in a story in – I can’t even remember how long. Rhysand comes in and WAM, BAM, THANK YOU MAAM, we are off on Feyre’s real and true adventure.

This book had everything I needed. Rhysand and Feyre are a slow burn. I mean it. Very slow burn. When we finally get to Chapter 55 we are well over 500 pages into this novel. BUT – that being said – I get it lol I get the hype around that chapter and respect that people were all about it. Have I read better sex scenes? Well, yes. Was it everything I wanted? Ehh, our author could have gotten away with more. But I love and respect it for what it was and is. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we get a little more sexy time in some of the others books in this series.

Now, on to the most important and most valuable lesson in this book (in my opinion). The acknowledgment and acceptance that your first love might not always be “the one”. I think our author did a BRILLIANT job highlighting this vitally important message. Especially since these books are labeled YA and high schoolers are reading them. Love doesn’t always last AND a lot of the time you grow apart. Life happens and that is okay!! Feyre’s monologue realizing this was probably my favorite moment in this book:

“I’m thinking that I was a lonely, hopeless person, and I might have fallen in love with the first thing that showed me a hint of kindness and safety. And I’m thinking maybe he knew that – maybe not actively, but maybe he wanted to be that person for someone. And maybe that worked for who I was before. Maybe it doesn’t work for who – what I am now.”

Such a beautiful, powerful moment of self reflection and the fact that she spoke these words to Rhysand took me over the edge. We knew that Feyre and Rhysand were endgame from the moment they crossed paths in book 1. Feyre sees him and thinks to herself that he is the most beautiful man she’s ever seen. WELL, in this book, Rhysand acknowledges that he could hear her thoughts and knew she thought that about him and that he felt the same way about her when he first saw her. This couple is incredible. Their relational journey is so inspiring. Feyre gives with her whole heart no matter what, no matter who, and no matter when. She’s strong and fierce and deserves the world. Hopefully Rhysand can give it to her if we’re able to make it through the battle in the next book. 5 glorious stars!!

“I’m thinking,” he said, following the flick of my tongue over my bottom lip, “that I look at you and feel like I’m dying. Like I can’t breathe. I’m thinking that I want you so badly I can’t concentrate half the time I’m around you, and this room is too small for me to properly bed you. Especially with the wings.”

Reckless Reunion

Man, this was a tough series. It HURT. It tackled so many triggering topics, but as always, Samantha Christy bleeds onto the page with grace. Although the last book, Reckless Invitation, was incredibly tough to read due to the child abuse, this one took on a whole new topic. Something that is almost never written about. In order to avoid spoilers, I cannot go into further detail on what the specific topic is, but just be warned going into this novel. If you have any kinds of triggers, I would almost warn you to maybe read spoilers before jumping into this one? Eeek. That sounds bad, but I’m not sure how else to advise without spoiling. Just be careful.

Garrett is the third and final Reckless Alibi rockstar. Obviously, this is not including Brad (he’s been married from the beginning, so he doesn’t really count LOL). This is a story of second chances. A BOY does our couple need a second chance. Wow. Garrett and Reece met when Reece was eighteen and Garrett as nineteen. They fell madly in love from basically the first moment they met. The had a drunken one night stand that neither of them remembered, but the morning after is when all the magic truly happened. They were inseparable until…life happened. Garrett was given the chance of a lifetime and had to take it and leave Reece behind. Reece, being so young and naive, only did what she thought was best for both of them. It was a disaster. Fast forwarding years later, Reece hears a song on the radio and realizes that it’s HER song. A song that she wrote! She doesn’t understand how someone else has her lyrics until she does a little digging and realizes that it’s Garrett’s band and he’s the one who stole her lyrics. After a small legal battle, they decide on a non-monetary settlement (for the most part) and Reece joins RA on tour. That’s when the magic begins again.

To say this is simply a second chance is cheating this story out of the depth and beauty that it is. This is a rockstar romance, it’s an enemies to lovers, second chance masterpiece. It burns you from the inside out. I was wailing on more than one occasion while reading. This isn’t a book you can pick up and read a couple of chapters of before you go fold the laundry or clean the kitchen sink. No, this is a binge read. This is a novel that forces you under the covers with a pile of tissues and a glass of wine. You aren’t ready for this. Honestly, you probably aren’t ready for this series as a whole because HOLY MOLY it is excruciating. Want something that will tear you apart? Read these three novels back to back? I couldn’t do it. I need to let myself heal now. I’m going to go pick up a romantic comedy and maybe a pint of ice cream. Samantha Christy is an artist. A truly remarkable writer. Her books always destroy my heart and capture everything I could ever imagine to want in a story. She will take you where you never realized you needed to go. Her stories heal in ways that you aren’t prepared for. But she WILL make you cry, so be prepared. 5 stars!!

My Unexpected Vow

“Sometimes the things we fight are the things we really need.”

Welcome back to the “I love Harlow James” fan club. I am obsessed with her and this series. If that wasn’t clear enough in my review of My Unexpected Serenity, let me impress upon you further with this blog post. Here we goooo!

This series has basically everything you could ever need. The characters fill your heart and the stories fill your soul. I am drowning in my obsession. In this story we jump into Hayes and Waverly’s journey as they wade through the struggles of marriage. Yes, that’s right, Hayes and Wav GOT MARRIED IN VEGAS. And let me set you straight before we continue, yes they were drunk and woke up married not remembering anything about the night before. It was glorious. You couldn’t have wiped the smile off my face if you tried! Hayes and Waverly’s story is explosive. These two fight like nobody’s business all throughout the first book. You know there’s something there, hiding under the surface. Hayes and Waverly are oblivious to their attraction, clouded by their supposed hatred for each other. It isn’t until alcohol lowers their inhibitions that they are able to see past the layers of hate into each other’s hearts. There is so much good in each of these characters. It’s beautiful.

So yes, when Hayes and Waverly wake up married they make the decision to stay married for 6 months to avoid scandal and also help both of them further their careers. As time goes on, these two get to know each other and feelings grow. They attraction was already there but once the real feelings kick in there is no stopping the inevitable. There were so many things that stood out to me in this novel. Okay, let’s break this down:

#1 – Hayes and Waverly both have SO much they don’t know about each other. I don’t want give too much away and spoil the book, but Hayes has a special talent that no one knows about. He shares it with Waverly, initially on accident, but then it becomes something meaningful to both of them. Waverly, on the other hand, holds something very close to her heart as well. When she shares this with Hayes, it’s almost like he sees a whole other side to her that he never saw before. It only makes him fall that much harder for her. Reading about these unique and special things that each of these characters has is what truly elevates this story. The book was already incredible, don’t get me wrong, but Harlow has taken her characters to another level by introducing these eccentricities.

#2 – Let’s talk chemistry. Wes and Shayla had great chemistry in book one but HOLY SH*T, Hayes and Waverly are off-the-charts hot. I mean, talk about taking it to the next level! And add in that allusion to Pretty Woman and I am SOLD. Give me more! I couldn’t get enough of these two. Hayes…my dear, sweet, yummy man. I am obsessed with him.

#3 – Umm hello Jake Calhoun!! WHAT?! Haven’t thought about him in a hot second. How amazing is it when worlds cross? I love it. It’s one of my favorite things that authors do.

To sum everything up…basically…just read the darn book. I mean, honestly, read everything Harlow has ever written because it’s all amazing, but this series is GOLD. She really hit it out of the park here. I cannot wait to read Chloe and Silas’ story. I just know it’s going to be my favorite. I FaceTimed with Harlow after I finished My Unexpected Serenity and I told her that my heart belongs to Silas…she thought I might lean more towards Hayes. TBH – Hayes it totally leading the way right now. We’ll have to see if Silas can beat him! I’m so excited! I can’t wait!! 5 incredible stars as always!

“We don’t leave an impression on someone by what we can offer them, we do it through the time we invest in them.”

Nashville Nights

“It was always supposed to be me.”

*SWOON* It’s safe to say that Julie Capulet is one of my go-to authors when I’m craving something extra delicious and sensual. She knows exactly how to pull me in and keep me engaged all the way through a story. She writes beautifully crafted, sexy, love-at-first-sight (instalove) novels that speak to my heart. She has done it again with this magical tale.

Book two in the Music City Lovers series takes a very serious turn. I was honestly HERE FOR IT. We read a little bit about Vaughn Tucker in book one, but we aren’t privy to much information until we start this novel. We hit the ground running. From the moment we open this book, it’s clear that Vaughn has a dependency on alcohol and drugs. It’s heartbreaking to witness, but keeps you fully engaged because you know his happy ending is coming. When he first lays eyes on Gigi (similarly to his brother and his three cousins and their love interests) his heart stops. He falls head first into an intense obsession. Gigi controls his every thought. He will stop at nothing to have her. LADIES – IT IS MAGNIFICENT.

We also met Gigi in book one, when her sister, Ruby, fell for Vaughn’s brother, Travis. Gigi is the put together one. She’s smart and determined. She knows what she wants to do with her life and she is very picky when it comes to men. She’s gorgeous but she doesn’t let her looks control her life or how she carries herself. When she meets Vaughn, she can immediately tell that something is off about him. She knows she could very easily fall in love with him, but she can also sense his pain. It’s what draws her to him but also what keeps her at arms length. Gigi is going to school to specialize in substance abuse treatment/therapy. (Lol they are a match made in heaven). Gigi is 100% an empath. She can sense emotions and feelings. She’s a natural healer and a breath of fresh air for Vaughn. She doesn’t fall for his charms and charisma right off the bat – it isn’t until she gets to know him that she lets her hair down. Then, all bets are off.

Their relationship is a wild ride, but the best part of this novel (in my opinion) was the growth that these two were able to do independently of each other. They were able to identify where they struggled and ask for the help they needed. Vaughn obviously struggled with this more than Gigi, but with Gigi’s help he was able to overcome is addiction and move on with his life. And don’t even get me started on those sex scenes…I know I say this in every single one of my reviews for Julie’s books but GOD DAMN!!! I needed a cold shower after this book! SO deliciously sensual and passionate. I cannot wait until book three. 5 stars as always!!

Baking Me Crazy

Warning: if you have not read this book, please do not read this review.

This book released a while back, and I’ve got to admit, when I saw the title I didn’t think I would ever pick it up. I’m not huge on silly title names and they usually ward me off of a story, but I am SO glad I gave this book a chance. I recently started listening to a new podcast called Smart Women Read Romance. These ladies read almost every romance subgenre under the sun, so I felt drawn and connected to them because I also like pretty much every subgenre. They previously reviewed a bunch of novels that I’ve read and loved, so I trust them immensely. I started adding new novels to my TBR as recommended by these two women and this book ended up being one of them. This is a friends to lovers, small town romance. I don’t usually gravitate towards friends to lovers, but this was an instalove book. YOU ALL KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE INSTALOVE!! I cannot rant and rave enough about this story and this couple. I was in a major book slump before I opened this book. The last 4 books I read were all DNFs and I felt drained and uninspired. I gave this one a shot and boooooy am I glad that I did!

Joss and Levi have been best friends for the last 5 years. They met when Levi was volunteering as a coach for a basketball team. Not just any team, though. Joss has been in a wheelchair for 7 years after an illness attacked her nervous system (as I understand it) and she was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis. She goes to PT to help strengthen her legs and she can walk a little bit, but still relies on her wheelchair for a lot of things. When Levi first laid eyes on Joss he knew she was his soulmate. There is a curse on his family where the men fall in love at first sight, so he wasn’t all too surprised when it happened to him. On that same note, everyone in his family knows as well because they are close and don’t keep secrets. I love a healthy, super close family.

So when Joss and Levi first meet, he immediately asks her out. She turns him down, saying that she’s not mentally/emotionally ready for a relationship, but she would love to be friends. And thus the foundation for our story begins. For 5 years, Levi has been waiting for Joss to be “ready” and when a new, handsome, mysterious man rolls into town and Joss starts developing “dating feels”, Levi knows he needs to make his move before it’s too late. I will say this: I was SO glad that our author didn’t make Andy and Joss into something more than they were. Joss had a crush and it fizzled out after Andy told her that he had a girlfriend. THANK THE LORD. If this had turned into a love triangle, I would have had issues. (LT are a big no for me). I loved the gradual introduction of lust into the relationship between Joss and Levi, as well. Levi was reigning in his feelings for so long, just to allow Joss to open up to the idea of him sexually. And those sexy scenes?? YES MA’AM!! Gosh this book was amazing. I loved every second of it. It brought me back to life. Even though Joss was very frustrating at times, I was able to empathize with her and try to understand why she reacted the way she did. I loved the HEA at the end. Levi sacrificed enough, in my opinion, and it was time for Joss to get out of her comfort zone. So beautiful!! 5 stars!

The Hitman’s Desire

“You make me happy,” he says bitterly, like it’s a bad thing. “Would you rather be miserable?” I ask, confused. “That feeling is dangerous for someone like me.” “I’d actually say the opposite, but alright, I’ll ask anyway. Why is it dangerous for someone like you?” “Because once I have it, I’ll do anything to keep it.”

This was probably the sweetest mafia romance I’ve ever read. I loved every second of it. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in this series! This book kept the same heat and passion that most mafia books have, but left out all the blood and gory details. I honestly didn’t mind not having them, but it didn’t take anything away with not having them. I will say that this was an adorable story. I loved Ruby even though she was a bit obnoxious at times. And John? Oh man. Is he my new favorite book boyfriend? I mean…

Okay, so we dive right into the middle of Ruby’s life. She doesn’t know that her father is a mafia boss, but we hit the ground running because in our first scene there is an attempt on her life. That’s when she meets both John and her father. She’s immediately drawn to John, but don’t ask me why LOL. He murdered two men in front of her but she feels safe and comfortable around him. The more she looks at him, the more her attraction grows. John is her father’s most trusted soldier, he is an assassin. Because he is known for being ruthless, her father places him in charge of her care. Taking care of Ruby is his number one priority. He stands guard in her room while she sleeps, and that’s when his walls start coming down…

The first two thirds of this book is from Ruby’s POV. We have no clue what’s going on in John’s head and I think that’s what makes it so much more captivating. As the reader, you’re just sitting there waiting for John to crumble. Ruby doesn’t do anything other than be herself and he caves. He falls hard and fast but doesn’t realize it until it’s too late. Ruby is the same. They hide their love from her father out of fear that he might take John’s life. There is so much passion in this book…ladies, I was drooling. John is delicious. Ruby’s innocence mixed with John’s passion, AH! It ignites. I was on fire reading some of these scenes! The only thing I wish was different was that there was a little more back story/development in Ruby’s character. We get a lot of information on John which is what you crave while you’re reading, but I would have loved to know a little more about Ruby. I’m very excited to dive into book 2! 4 stars!

“You’re my salvation, Ruby.”

The Kiss Quotient

I absolutely adored this book. I didn’t have any idea what this book was about going into it, other than the fact that our heroine had autism. I was beyond impressed by the representation in this novel. It was so beautiful. I found Stella to be an absolutely inspiring character. I loved her mind and the way she lived her life. Towards the end of the novel, she struggles a bit with who she is but has a “light bulb” moment that really catapulted this book from a 4 to a 5 star read for me. There was absolutely nothing I would have changed about Stella, as she says about herself towards the end of the book. She is perfect exactly the way that she is. I LOVED THIS STORY.

Michael’s character was an interesting twist, in my opinion. You hardly ever get to read about male sex workers, so I found him fascinating. I didn’t love the negative undertones regarding sex work in the novel, but I understood that Michael himself did not enjoy the work, and was doing it out of desperation. It is important to note that one of my biggest triggers was present during this novel: Cancer. BUT no one dies (thankfully). We only learn that Michael’s mom has cancer about a third of the way into the book. There were some hints at the beginning but nothing concrete enough to make me stop reading. I also ADORED that Michael loved designing and creating clothing. I loved that our author allowed him to embrace that side of himself without shame. It was incredible! The balance of power between Stella and Michael was fascinating because although she made more money and was theoretically “smarter” than he was, he held the power in the sexual side of their relationship, but it never felt uncomfortable or bad. They balanced each other out, almost. It was incredible, endearing, and wonderful.

There was also a lot teased about Michael’s father and Michael struggling a lot with his betrayal. I definitely wish we would have gotten a little bit more from that plot line because Michael is in desperate need of therapy and he never gets it…also the fact that he lies to his mother about his sex work and that never gets resolved either. So yes, there were a few plot holes that I wish would have been resolved, but you can’t always get everything!

I was thrilled by how sexual this book was. I have always thought that traditionally published novels were very vanilla, but WOW was I wrong! As soon as we meet Michael for the first time, we know this is not a PG book. I loved Stella and Michael’s sexual exploration. I loved that Stella hated kissing but that she grew to learn to love it with Michael because their connection was more than just physical. There was so much that I loved and appreciated about this book, I could go on forever! For now, I’m going to dive into The Bride Test 🙂 Wish me luck! 5 stars.

Delicate

“I’m pretty sure you’re the best thing I’ve ever felt.”

Hello, friends! It’s been a hot minute since my sweet friend and brilliant author, K.L. Cottrell, has released anything. Buuuuut she’s back with a BANG!! Straight out of heaven, we are delivered this deliciously moving, thoughtful work of art. Did I cry? Yes. Was it worth it? Oh, absolutely. This is a friends to lovers romance, a single parent romance, and best friends fiancé (is that a thing?) romance. There is a lot going on in this book, but it is worth every second of your time.

K.L. serves up the piping hot question: is there a right way to move on from loss? The two main characters in this novel are Beckett and Noelle. They are almost haunted to an extent by the loss of Beckett’s best friend and Noelle’s fiancé, Cliff. They were the three amigos until Cliff tragically died in a car accident. This novel explores the growing friendship and eventual relationship between Beckett and Noelle as they navigate their grief, romantic feelings and the guilt associated, and raising Noelle’s daughter, Theodora. This book is A LOT. I would not recommend this if you aren’t big into emotional reads. It’s not light and funny, it’s difficult and painful and heartbreaking at times. We get flashbacks from both Beckett and Noelle’s POVs from before the accident. We see them as friends. We see Noelle and Cliff in love. We see everything. This book doesn’t hold back. THAT BEING SAID – this novel moved me. It touched me in a way I haven’t been in a long time. It’s different and it’s powerful. If you want to come away thinking about these characters for days after, if you want to feel something real – read this novel. It’s sad, but it’s not depressing.  As I’m writing my review right now, I don’t feel dejected, I feel inspired. Reading about all that these incredible humans went through, and watching them come out on top? That is something else. Beckett and Noelle were perfect for each other. Their love was unmatched. Everything about this novel was poignant.

Now we get to talk about one of my favorite parts of the novel: Theodora. How does K.L. always *win* with the children she writes? I’m not sure. You see, I’m veeeery picky about children in romance novels. They make or break the story for me, usually. In this novel, Theodora was an absolute doll. She isn’t just cute, though. She adds to the story. She understands that her father, Cliff, is dead. She understands that her “Uncle” Beckett loves her. She also makes it very obvious, multiple times, that she loves Beckett times a million and would do anything for him. There are a lot of important scenes with Theo that move the story forward, and I love that she isn’t just a prop. She is her own character and she is a star. I loved her!!

I feel like I could continue naming all of the things I loved about this novel, but you should 100% go read it for yourself. The tension between Noelle and Beckett is delicious. Their intimate scenes are on point. The flashbacks that our author adds in are expertly written and are very easy to follow. And more than anything, all of the characters – even the minor ones – are important and add something of value to the story. You can always tell when an author has spent quality time with their characters and inside the world they’ve built – that is why I love reading K.L.’s stories. She is patient with her characters and her world building. She takes her time and it shows in her brilliant story-telling abilities. In my opinion, this is one of the best books she’s ever written. Her words speak to my soul. A huge round of applause for my dear friend, K.L. Loved this story immensely and cannot wait for you to share it with the world! 5 stars! ❤
