The Hunter

A note floated down from the nightstand. I picked it up. “If you want it, it’s yours. To keep. To use. To burn. With this, you’ll never fall. – Hunt.” I smiled bitterly, allowing a tear to slide down my cheek. “Silly boy,” I whispered. “I already have.”

I’m so weird about LJ Shen’s books. Anytime a new book comes out, I wait to read it for a while because I’m scared. After Broken Knight, I try to proceed with caution when it comes to her stories. I never know when they are going to completely destroy me. Luckily, this one didn’t hurt too bad, which I’m super thankful for. I’d had this on my Kindle for a few weeks before I decided to buckle down and read it. I split it up into two days because I didn’t want to read it too quickly…I did the same thing with Angry God. I like to take time with LJ’s stories, every sentences should be tasted and mulled over. There’s always so much underneath the surface when it comes to her books. I can’t wait to own this one in paperback!

Hunter is the definition of a playboy. He’s dirty, raunchy, and selfish. He uses women like dish towels and throws them out after he’s done. He has no regard for anyone but himself until the unthinkable happens to him. He accidentally makes a sex tape and then is sued for it. He father threatens to disinherit him if he doesn’t stay celibate and sober for six months. He is also forced to live in an apartment with Sailor Brennan. You might remember Sailor’s mother and father from their story, Sparrow. Sailor is a the image of goodness. She’s smart, witty, and determined. She doesn’t care about boys and is focused solely on her career in archery. She’s gunning for the Olympics. So Sailor and Hunter move in together…they hate each other at first. Total enemies to lovers story going on here and I am HERE FOR IT. Hunter is matched so perfectly with Sailor. She doesn’t let his good-looks and charm get the best of her. She meets him toe to toe on everything. She doesn’t back down and she gives as good as she gets.

My favorite thing about Sailor was her communication skills. She was always up front and honest with Hunter about things. She told him that she was afraid of falling for him, she counseled him when he needed it, she even admitted her own faults to him. Yes, there were times when she wasn’t ready to tell him exactly how she felt, but she never hid from him. She was brave and courageous, always. Hunter was almost the opposite. He kept everything from her, his emotions, his heart. It was too late when he realized how much he loved her. Of course, his grand gesture of love with absolutely perfect. He could not have done better than that. You’ll have to read the book to understand. Anyway, it took Hunter a while to come around because of his issues, but when he finally stepped up? Boy, YES!

Good GOD I loved this book. I’m such a fan of LJ Shen, I can’t even begin to explain it. I know there are a lot of other fans who feel my pain when I complain about having to wait for the next book. Cillian, Hunter’s older brother, is going to have the BEST story. I cannot waaaait. I’m bouncing off the walls here! Gimme gimme! 5 stars for Hunter and Sailor. Beautiful, real, and raw. Loved it.

“Say yes,” he breathed into my mouth. “Say you’ll never leave.” “Never,” I murmured. “I love you so much, Hunter. It terrifies me how far I’ll go to save you.”

Nixon

SPOILERS AHEAD – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Alright truth time: I am not a big fan of our heroine for the majority of this story. QUE RANT. I mean, I’m all about women power, but there’s a line. Liberty is exceptional. She’s spunky and witty, and a total empath. She reads people impeccably well and will make an excellent psychologist (her dream job) one day. The only problem? As in tune and perceptive as she is with others…she’s the opposite with herself. She claims to not psychoanalyze Nixon, but she does it almost every chance she gets. But then she can’t be honest with herself about how she feels? Yeah right. Ooof, she pissed me off. And then to endanger her child by traveling to a third world country in the third trimester of her pregnancy? HOLD THE PHONE. What non-profit, in its right mind, would ever employ a pregnant woman as an intern when they know she is due to give birth WHILE ON HER INTERNSHIP?! Okay okay, I’m sorry. I’m just really irritated with Liberty. I know she makes up for it in the end, compromising with Nixon and everything…but still. The point is, she could have volunteered and completed her internship in the inner city clinic like she was doing before and then when their child was old enough they could all travel together. See? THAT is a compromise. When you get pregnant your life changes. You can’t just keep going on like everything is the same as it was before because it doesn’t work that way.

Apologies for the rant above, but I couldn’t keep it in any longer. I absolutely LOVE Samantha Whiskey. I’ll read anything she writes. I cannot WAIT to read Roman and Hendrix’s books. This story was fantastic, it kept me interested and invested. It made me feel everything. I cried, I laughed, and boy did I get angry. But that’s what books are supposed to do – make you feel. I only wish our heroine was less….herself? I don’t think I would be friends with Liberty if I met her in person. For as non-materialistic and non-fake as she is, she sure is selfish. It takes Nixon basically deciding to give up football for her to realize that she should compromise with him because they love each other.

So anyway, the gist of the story is as follows. Nixon and Liberty have a wild night in Vegas and Liberty ends up pregnant. She approached Nixon at the beginning of our novel and lets him know and he’s completely thrown. He moves her into his apartment (after some issues arise where she was living) and soon enough they fall in love. Then, of course, life catches up with them and that’s when everything crashes to the ground (see first paragraph of my review LOL). It all ends up okay in the end and our couple gets their HEA, but I’m still left feeling bothered for some reason. Perhaps the next story in this series will tie up the loose ends for me. As much as I loved this story, I’ve got to give it 4 stars for conflicting values. Can’t wait for the next book!

Looking to Score

I’m completely shocked and overwhelmed by how much I loved this book. Sports romance is my favorite trope, I looooove a good sports romance. But this story took sports and blended it with a couple of really important topics in our world today: bullying and eating disorders. Yes, our heroine has a eating disorder. It’s apparent from the way she views food in general, not just in the fact that she counts every single calorie down to a T. She’s constantly calculating to determine how much she needs to burn off in order to eat things such as apples or protein bars. It’s heartbreaking and I think there definitely should have been more of a focus on her recovery in the novel. Thankfully, when she starts dating our leading man, Oakley, she starts to view food differently and is able to eat without so much regret underneath. You see, our heroine, Amanda, used to have a drinking problem. With that came the drunchies (drunk munchies) and that had her gaining weight. I wouldn’t call her fat, like she enjoys calling herself throughout the novel, I’d say she probably looked a little heavy. We know she’s lost about forty pounds when our novel begins and we know she looks awfully thin because her parents remark about it. Anyway, so yes, she transferred to a new school (The University of Texas to be exact, Hook ‘Em) after an incident at her last college in CA had her running for the hills. She often thinks back on her time in CA remembering how much she loved to party. She comments on how partying was a way to cover up her insecurities but it really only made things worse for her.

Amanda is an interesting character, she’s strong and put together, has her head on her shoulders and knows what she wants, but a very large part of me wonders how much of that is really her and how much of it is overcompensation for who she used to be. She’s so afraid of slipping that she doesn’t allow herself to have any alcohol, eat anything that might have any amount of calories, and she’s afraid of love. That’s the biggest one. When she gets assigned as the PR agent for Oakley, to help reform his playboy, partier image, she finds she can’t stop thinking about him. Part of me wonders if it was love at first sight for her but she kept it under wraps. I know it took Oakley some time to come around, but once he did? Boy, he was in it to win it.

This novel was written solely from Amanda’s perspective, so we never got a glimpse into Oakley’s mind which was disappointing. I wanted to know his thoughts on her eating disorder, which was just kind of left out there with no resolution. I also wanted to be able to watch him fall in love with her, it could have been really interesting. Anyway, I still loved this book so much. It was unique and special and had me furiously flipping pages. I couldn’t get enough. 4 stars!! P.S. I loved it so much that I didn’t even take the time to write down any quotes!

The Danger You Know

“Why are you here, Ari? Why can’t you leave me alone?” He stops, his hands tucked in his pockets and his face angled down. I study his profile as he takes a few second to answer. It sounds like a confession, something spoken more to himself than to me. “You have no idea how badly I wish I knew the answer to that question.”

I had initially signed up to be an ARC reader for this novel, but when the time came, I never received my ARC. I couldn’t figure out what happened, so I just left it at that and moved on. A few weeks later, I stumbled upon this book again, but this time it was recommended to me on Kindle Unlimited. I couldn’t resist, especially after reading the blurb. I’m a sucker for a taboo, stalker romance and that’s exactly what this story delivers. A delicious, sensual journey that leaves you feeling sated and happy.

WARNING: This review DOES contain spoilers!!! Proceed with caution!

Straight out of the gate we find out that Ari, our leading man, has been stalking Adeline since she was sixteen. Kind of weird, but it’s because he saw something inside of her that he had only ever seen inside himself. The night Ari first sees Adeline, he has just finished killing her father. `That’s right, Ari is an assassin. He’s a contract killer and he makes big bucks doing it. None of his kills ever affected him until Adeline’s father. Ari watches as Adeline grows up without parents, as a wild and unruly teenager. She gets into drugs, parties all the time, sleeps around…she’s just a mess. But that’s what Ari loves so much about her. She is unapologetically herself, always.  Ari periodically comes into her life, physically, when things get out of hand, and takes care of her. He watches her lose her virginity, he watches her get married, and he watches as her life falls apart. She loses herself after her marriage, she becomes complacent. She stops taking photos, she stops listening to music, she stops dancing. All of the things that made Ari fall in love with her, she loses. That’s when he steps in.

Ari shows up just in time, in my opinion. He saves Adeline from a life of turmoil. Adeline suffers from narcolepsy, a sleep disorder. Now her narcolepsy isn’t a HUGE topic in the book, but it’s important enough to mention because it leads to the abuse she endures from her husband. That abuse and her ultimate attempted murder is what pushes Ari over the edge. He slips himself into her life and teases and taunts her, with the intention of bringing her out of her shell. Pulling her back into her self again. Eventually it works, but Adeline is such a strong woman, that she has to come into it on her own. The push and pull between these two is what made the novel so enjoyable. Adeline wanted Ari so bad, but felt guilty for cheating on her husband. Then she hated Ari for dangling it in front of her, but craved him more than anything. Everything about him felt right to her. His smell, his touch, his taste…like it was made just for her. UGH IT IS SUCH A GREAT STORY.

I appreciated that Ari didn’t try to make himself out to be the hero in Adeline’s life, even though he did save her on multiple occasions. He saved her from rapes, from accidents, from her husband, and eventually he saved her from herself. She needed to be reminded of who she was. After he accomplished all that he came into her life to do, he left. He let her grow and pick herself back up on her own. He let her experience life without him, though he was always watching from the wings. Only after Adeline sought him out did they get together in the end. It was worth it though. Every single moment in this novel was pure bliss. Even the rough parts. Absolutely marvelous work. 5 stars!

“She doesn’t need a hero to swoop in and save her, she needs a villain who drags out the hero she has within herself.”

A Secret for a Secret

“I want all your dark secrets to be mine to keep. I want all your pieces, all the things that make you who you are. I don’t care if you think you’re bent or broken; let me love all of you.”

YES YES YES!!! That’s what I’m talking about! This book is everything, absolutely everything. My favorite of all the couples in the All In series written by Helena Hunting. Talk about opposites attracting…this book was about two utterly different people falling in love and I was 100% HERE FOR IT. I can’t even begin to explain how much I loved this book. Just know…I’m buying the paperback on Amazon now. Because that’s what I do when I love a book too much. I need to be able to hold it in my hands, I need a physical copy of the thing that made me so happy. AH.

Okay, deep breath. King and Queen. Those are our main characters. Ryan Kingston, who goes by King on the ice and in his career, and Queenie. Before I even get into the breakdown of this story I’ve just got to say one thing: King calls Queenie “my queen”. I DIED. I physically shook, I was so giddy when I read that the first time. It’s so perfect, I can’t even form coherent sentences right now. My queen?? This couple is MAJOR goals. They are absolutely perfect, even in their imperfections.

King is a straight-laced, boy scout type. He wears kakis and polos every single day, he drives the speed limit, and he brings flowers and chocolates to his girl before a date. He is concerned with making sure he’s doing what’s right and it’s incredibly cute and endearing. He is inherently good from the moment we meet him. He doesn’t even like to drink alcohol! I mean, what? He’s a hockey player for crying out loud! Definitely not what you would expect at all. He’s generous and attentive and just an overall incredible guy. Queenie is a tornado. She’s messy and has a lot of baggage and says everything she’s thinking. But the thing about her character is that she compliments King so well. He is the calm to her storm. She buzzes around living her life, trying to find her purpose. She’s creative and passionate and kind. She’s amazing with kids and loves art, she’s simply just lost her confidence. King helps her get that confidence back and helps her find her footing so she can take control of her life again. This story was a totally different take on the usual hockey player sports romance and it was so refreshing.

Queenie and King meet at a bar one night and have a one night stand (without the sex). She leaves in the morning without giving him her phone number and they never see each other again. Six weeks later, King shows up for practice, only to find out that Queenie is the GM’s daughter and his new assistant. She’s going to be working for the team. He can’t get her out of his head. The moment he sees her again he knows he wants her. He even goes so far as to ask her father if he can date her, when he finds out that she’s been specifically asked not to date any of the players. Tons of drama occurs during the duration of this story but nothing is quite as remarkable as that ending. What a way to go out, truly. And that epilogue? YES PLEASE! I’m so in love with this universe, I cannot wait for the next book to come out. (I hope there are more books in this series). For now, 5 stars and a million snaps!

“I see you, Queen. Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not worthy.”

The Consequence of Falling

“You make me feel like I can’t breathe.”

**WARNING: SPOILERS**

This book was included in the Spring Big Book Lover Box and I’d been holding off on reading it until now. I regret that decision immensely. After finishing this novel, I wish I had read it months ago. It is phenomenal. A perfectly woven tale of two broken people finding love. It’s enemies to lovers at its finest.

Presley and Nathaniel meet for the first time when he picks her up from high school. She’s a sophomore (I’m assuming) and he is eighteen. They butt heads exchange a few unkind words and go their separate ways. They meet again a couple of years later and have a similar exchange, this time Nathaniel is driving Presley to her prom. They continue meeting every few years, their disdain for each other growing with each exchange. But…the attraction continues to build as well. It comes to a screeching halt when Nathaniel shows up on Presley’s wedding day and kisses her for the first time. It’s a magical, life changing kiss that they both continue to ruminate on for years after. But yes, Presley gets married to someone else. Their marriage ends five years later when he can’t help but continuously cheat on her. So there you have it, the true beginning of our story: Presley is fresh into her divorce and Nathaniel has just become a huge investor in her father’s company. Here we goooo!

Nathaniel came from nothing. His father died when he was eighteen and he began working for Presley’s father, Winston, pretty soon after. Winston took him under his wing and helped him become the business man he is today. A millionaire. A brilliant man on a mission. But because of his past and where he came from, Nathaniel believes Presley is too good for him. He doesn’t think he could ever deserve her or be what she needs. Presley doesn’t see him as less or weak because of his background. The problem is, they never communicate except through jabs at each other. They never talk about how they are feeling or what they want. Basically, Presley finds out that Nathaniel is investing in her father’s beer company and they jump into bed together. Nathaniel is 100% sure about what he wants with Presley from the very beginning. He is so insanely in love with her that sometimes he says or does the wrong thing. For as strong as she is, Presley is still delicate in some places. Specifically when it comes to men. Nathaniel tears her down on multiple occasions without meaning to, and she takes it really hard. Eventually, when he realizes how it’s affecting her, he is able to explain his reasoning behind why he treats her the way he does. GOD this book is so fantastic! I loved every second and I can’t wait to read more by Claire Contreras. 5 stars!

“You couldn’t possibly have been in love with me forever,” I whispered against his mouth. “I was.” I shook my head, smiling. He smiled back. “I was just waiting for you to catch up.”

Reckless Obsession

“Grief is different for everyone, and healing can be a slow, arduous process. Then one day, one moment even, when you aren’t expecting it, everything changes.”

**WARNING: SPOILERS**

I read Samantha Christy’s entire Stone Brothers series and Perfect Game series before I started my blog. But this book might just be my favorite of anything I’ve read. This story put me through the ringer. It was so incredibly painful, truthfully much darker than I thought it would be. When you think of rockstar romance you don’t usually associate it with death (at least I don’t), so this was new to me. I can’t wait for Reckless Invitation to be released at the end of August. I need more of Crew and Bria.

We start out meeting Bria as she’s touring with the famous band, White Poison, as their backup singer. Reckless Alibi, Crew’s band, is the opening act for them for a few shows and Bria falls in love with their music. When drama unfolds and Bria is not invited back on tour with White Poison, she is invited by Crew’s bandmates to come sing with them. Not as a backup singer, as the co-lead singer with Crew. Crew is NOT a fan of that but we don’t understand why until the flashbacks begin.

You see, Crew was in love once. To a girl named Abby. They were high school sweethearts, but something incredibly tragic happened to Abby and he’s never been the same since. Some might say he’s in a constant state of suffering…and then he begins to sing with Bria. It’s like a light finally turned on in his eyes. He finds joy in life again. It’s beautiful, watching him blossom. He can’t keep his hands off Bria, either. Each time they sing together, they leave the stage and run off together to make out and hook up. The only problem is, Bria doesn’t know about Crew’s past, so when things pop up that remind him of Abby, he goes cold towards Bria. It’s a constant hot and cold with Crew, so much so that it starts to really bother Bria. She just wants Crew to be happy and doesn’t under the reason why he can’t be. When Crew finally breaks down and tells Bria what happened to Abby, the dam opens. I was sobbing, it was brutal to read. I can’t imagine having to go through something like that. You feel for Crew on a new level. You understand his constant need to protect Bria and keep her safe. Everything begins to make sense.

As far as reviews go, I’m still pretty in shock from what I read in this book. It was an absolutely perfect story, but it was so raw and painful. It’s been a long time since a book made me feel so ripped apart. I feel a little like a broken record when I say this but: you should read this book. It will make you feel so many things and it’s so worth it. I have always loved Samantha Christy’s work, but it wasn’t until this book that I realized the depth that adoration went to. This was easily a 5 star novel, I wish I could rate it higher, truthfully. Wonderful, wonderful work. Gotta go grab a new box of tissues now!

“This is the real thing. It’s a more complete kind of love. More mature. The kind you know is going to make you laugh and cry and maybe even rip your heart out times. The feelings I have for you are so intense, it sometimes scares the shit out of me.”

Dirty Dom

This was my first book by Willow Winters and I absolutely loved it. I knew she had to be extremely talented because her following is huge, but I had no idea how much I would love her work. Dirty Dom is a dark mafia romance and it is absolutely delicious. You get everything from a little BDSM play to kidnapping and attempted murder. I just love the action that mafia romances bring to the table. It keeps your heart pumping and keeps you on your toes. This book had me breathing heavily for a multitude of reasons (if you catch my drift, wink wink).

The first chapter of the book starts with back and forth blurbs from the perspectives of our two leads, Dom and Becca. It was pure brilliance. Dom’s POV was in bold font and Becca’s was normal. It jumped so quickly between the two, but flowed beautifully. There was never a moment where I got lost or felt that it was bouncing back and forth too often. I loved it and I wish more authors would do something like that.

So we meet Dom, our leading man, and he’s a bookie. This was new to me because I’m accustomed to the leading man in mafia romances being underbosses or bosses. This was a unique twist on that which was really cool. Becca, our leading lady, whose husband had just died, is bringing money that he owed to Dom to pay off the family debt. The moment she steps in the room with the money, Dom loses himself. It’s lust at first sight. He has to have her. So when she presents him with the money that doesn’t include interest, he takes his interest from her body. They have wild, rough sex and Becca can’t get enough. She’s terrified of him but that makes her want him even more. Their relationship was very unique throughout the entire novel. It was a huge push and pull, back and forth, cat and mouse game. Becca was mourning the husband she no longer loved and at war with the feelings she was having for a man she believed to be bad. Dom was constantly fighting with her, knowing how much she wanted him but unable to identify why it hurt so bad when she pushed him away.

Eventually they realized that they were in love. Some very scary stuff went down with Becca and Dom lost his mind. I think that was the moment that I realized his feelings had moved from purely physical to emotional. The reason Dom is a bookie is because he doesn’t like to go out on hits with the guys. He prefers to handle the financial side of things. It isn’t until everything with Becca goes down that he realizes he will do whatever it takes to be with her. Becca, on the other hand, is constantly worried about her three year old son. She is afraid to bring him into the mafia world, which is the biggest reason she’s fighting her feelings for Dom. When these two finally work everything out and make compromises…it’s magic. They belong together and to watch them work through their differences is absolutely wonderful. I loved this book! Such a passionate, sexy journey. 5 stars!

“Tell me you’ll stay with me. I promise I’ll love you till the day I die.”

Hate to Love

Book two in Sarah LeeAnn’s Quick to Fall series and I’m hooked. I’ve fallen in love with these characters and the world they’ve built. This book is definitely an enemies to lovers romance. Mallory and Ellis are absolutely nothing alike. They are polar opposites who come together for a night of wild sex and end up falling in love. This story was much different than the first book, Refused Love, but I loved both equally.

Let me start out by saying this: Ellis is not nice. Like at all. He’s cruel, he pushes Mal’s buttons, he says rude things to her just to upset her. All of this made him really unlikable in my opinion. I found myself rooting for Mal to hurt him just as much as he hurt her…until the very end. Ellis is so confused by his love for Mal that he gets defensive and aggressive at times. He doesn’t know how to control these emotions that he’s never felt before. It’s honestly really sad but also so sweet. I felt bad for him once he realized that he was in love with Mal and everything went to sh*t. Mal, on the other hand, stands up for herself. She doesn’t take the rude and offensive comments from Ellis. She fires right back at him and it’s incredible. The push and pull between these two is powered by their lust for each other. Eventually it turns into love, but for most of the novel, it’s lust. They can’t keep their hands off of each other, or their minds from thinking about the other person. Their chemistry is FIRE. Even when they are fighting, it’s explosive.

Ellis owns a bar and one night he meets Mallory there. He serves her drinks and watches while she fails at picking up guys. He takes care of her when she gets wasted and can’t stand up straight, and eventually she comes back for more. The next night, Mal shows up and she spends the night with Ellis. When they wake up in the morning everything falls apart. Ellis starts in with his lewd and offensive comments, and Mal is incredibly uncomfortable which just pisses Ellis off. The potential blossoming friendship ends there and they become enemies, thinking about each other all the time and hating each other just the same. Then fate strikes, and it turns out that Mallory is Ellis’ daughter, Lilly’s, teacher. Ellis and Mal are forced to see each other every day, and when Ellis signs up to volunteer for the Father Daughter Dance, all bets are off. The white flags are waved on both sides and they fall into their attraction again. As they begin spending more and more time together and time with Lilly, they fall in love. It’s marvelous and so real. Life isn’t perfect and you don’t always know who you’re going to fall in love with.

Loved this book!! I can’t wait for the next in the series. Like I said in my last review, I really hope we get a Cami book soon. I think her story could be so magical! I really loved reading and reviewing these books for Sarah LeeAnn, and I can’t wait to continue exploring her work! 4 stars.

I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion

Refused Love

This story was absolutely wonderful. I was addicted from the very beginning. Everything about this novel was crafted gorgeously. The characters, the dialogue, even the meet-cute. And BOY was that meet-cute just the greatest thing ever! Our couple meets in an airport and it’s lust at first sight on both accounts. They end up hooking up in the airplane (mile high club!) and think that their story ends there. But fate has other ideas! Their paths end up crossing again when AJ, our leading man, turns out to be the cousin of Claire’s best friend! Talk about destiny, am I right? This couple can’t seem to get away from each other. Witnessing their interactions is so sweet, it always leaves you warm and fuzzy.

I really enjoyed the length of this novel and the pacing. We jump from important event to important event throughout and our couple hits all the major notes to help move the story along. Sometimes, when a novel is as short as this one, it can feel rushed and the relationship might feel a little unbelievable. Not with this story! Our couple spends quality time together, even though they are supposed to be in a “friends with benefits” relationship. We all know how those turn out. One of the most notable qualities about this book is the chemistry between Claire and AJ. From the get-go they are off to the races. They can’t keep their hands off each other and even when they aren’t around the other person, they can’t stop thinking about each other. AJ is a little bit of an alpha-male, but he balances Claire. Claire is very guarded at the beginning of our story. She has all her walls up and doesn’t believe in relationships. Through her friendship and experiences with AJ, she finally opens up her heart. It was refreshing and very sweet.

Now we have to talk about the elephant in the room. There is an attempted sexual assault in this book. I’m not someone who needs a trigger warning when it comes to situations such as this (if there is cheating then you bet your a** I need a trigger warning), but some people might need one. AJ’s response to the sexual assault is where I had my issue. I understand that he was upset because he cared so much about Claire, but his response to everything wasn’t something I appreciated. It ultimately causes a huge fight between him and Claire and leads to the downfall of their relationship. I won’t say much of anything else, because I don’t want to ruin the book for anyone! I’d love to hear anyone’s thoughts on this same scene. I still loved the book regardless of how that specific scene upset me.

I’m super excited to start the next book in this series, Hate to Love. Every single secondary character in this book is exceptional and I only hope that each of them gets their own story. I’m really excited for Claire’s sister, Cami, to get her story. The next book is about AJ’s cousin, Mallory. Eeeeep! Can’t wait to get started! 4 stars!
